Plousos Sifakis S.A. has one of the best organised production units for cutting, bending and welding rebar steel in the Greek market. All production equipment is cetrified according to the most recent and strictest EU and Greek norms, laws and directives and is recalibrated on a scheduled basis. Production is monitored at all times and regular samplng and statistic analysis of the results ensure that the quality of products is the highest possible.
The quality of the operation of the company is further monitored and assesed as part of the “Quality Assurance – ISO 9001:2000 / EN ISO 9001:2000» certification program that the company is following.
Rebar cutting is performed by mechanical means only.
Rebar bending is performed with certified equipment utilising for each bar diameter the appropriate bending cylinder diameter specified by the rebar steel regulations.According to the Greek Standardisation Organisation (ΕΛΟΤ/ELOT) and the “Greek Reinforced Concrete Regulation” (ΕΚΟΣ) the quality of steel must be Β500C and the minimum bending cylinder diameter (D), – in order to avoid the generatio of cracks in the bar should be:
In order to construct the prefabricated steel cages individual steel bars have to be bended in complex shapes . We employ the following bending equipment:
Welding, whenever required, is performed by specially trained personnel and is carried out in accordance to the requirements of the ΕΛΟΤ (Greek Standartisation Organisation). The electric arc method with protective gas is used and the welding material is provided by an external electrode in order to ensure that the diameter of the reinforcement remains intact by the process.
The production of Reinforcement Piles is completely automated using the most modern technology. We produce piles with a diameter of 0.4m to 1.4m and a one-piece length up to 14m by the method of continuous helical winding and automatic cross-welding with electrode and gas protection, according to the relevant specifications of ELOT.
