”K.K Sifakis” was established as a limited (Ltd) company in 1976 by civil engineers Mr Nikolaos Plousos and Mr Kostantinos Sifakis and was transformed to its current form (S.A.) in 1988.

According to its articles of association the scope of the company is the trade of rebar steel, wire mesh and auxiliary building materials (construction wood, pins, scaffolding etc) and the fabrication of steel reinforcement cages.

The steel traded is produced by Greek steel mills (Sidenor, Hellenic Halyvourgia) and selected Italians producers (Riva Acciaio, Ferriera Valsabbia, Alfa Acciai).

During its first period of operation (1976-1998) the company was based in a site of 4.000 sq.m. in the area of Dilina in Heraklion, Crete. By the end of this period the company employed 15 persons and had a daily production capacity of up to 50 tons.

During the second period of operation (1998-2010) the company operated from its new, privately owned, production facilities in the 3rd km Heraklion – Finikia Rd. The facilities consisted of 800 sq.m of sheltered plant within a site of 5.000 sq.m. The company employed 40 persons and had a daily production capacity of up to 100 tons.

Today the company is based in new, privately owned, production facilities, with 4.500sq.m of sheltered plant within a field of 10.000sq.m. plot on Manou Katraki street in the area of Finikia, only 200m away from the previous building which is now used as warehouse. Production capabilities have been expanded to cover most types of prefabricated steel reinforcement and its raw steel daily production capacity exceeds 250 tons.
